The concept of moving forward in life was brought to my attention the other day while watching Casey Neistat's vlog. Casey is a film producer and director, who uses youtube as his platform for posting his videos/movies. In his video he was talking about how when he posts a vlog, he never goes back and watches it later. This oddly stuck with me, because it made me think about this blog, and how it correlates with my life. When I write a post relating to my life, I seldom go back later and reread it. I'll purge my emotions in the form of a new post, quickly edit it a bit, and publish it. That's it. No carefully looking back over it in the future, no second guessing myself and my thoughts which I wrote about, no reminiscing. This blog has become an outlet for me to express what I'm passionate about and what is on my mind, but I try to avoid looking back at them. I am not exactly sure why this is, but I tend to block out what I have done in the past. I prefer to just accept the past and move forward. When I say accept I don’t just mean deal with bad things that happen but take in the good things too. No matter what happened. It’s over. And maybe the affects of that event or decision you made still stick with you to this day but that's todays problem or todays blessing.
I am not someone who is religious and I strongly believe in you determining your own fate and choosing your own path in life. No matter how many challenges life throws at you, choose the right one. So live in the now, pick yourself back up and move forward.
(P.S- I think about this video a lot, it tends to motivate me so I thought I'd share)
